In a shocking revelation, the Florida governor’s oversight board has accused Disney of sneaky tactics in their recent agreement. Apparently, the entertainment giant cited the authority of King Charles to bypass the board’s approval process.
“We couldn’t believe it,” said board member Bob Bobberson. “They just threw King Charles in there like it was no big deal. Who do they think they are, the Queen of England?”
The agreement in question involves Disney’s plans to build a new resort in the state. The oversight board, which is responsible for regulating development projects, was not consulted before the deal was made. Disney claims that King Charles, who ruled England in the 17th century, gave them permission to do whatever they want in Florida.
“We’re not sure how that works,” admitted board member Jane Janeson. “But we’re pretty sure King Charles never even set foot in Florida.”
This isn’t the first time Disney has come under fire for its questionable business practices. Last year, they were caught smuggling in churros from Mexico and selling them at inflated prices in the parks. And who can forget the infamous “Mickeygate” scandal of 2016, where it was discovered that the beloved icon had been taking bribes from rival theme parks.
In response to the oversight board’s allegations, Disney released a statement saying, “We apologize for any confusion. Our legal team is currently consulting with the ghosts of past monarchs to ensure we have all the necessary permissions for our projects.”
It remains to be seen what the outcome of this debacle will be, but one thing is for sure: Mickey and his friends are not above the law, no matter how many kings they name-drop.
