Ski Slope Mishap: Comedian and Deep Sea Diver Collide

In a incident that left witnesses chuckling and the parties involved a little shaken, comedian Jerry Landers and retired deep sea diver Barbara Martin collided on a Utah ski slope earlier this year.

While exact details of what happened are still up for debate, it’s believed that Landers was trying out a new bit involving exaggerated skiing movements when he collided with Martin, who was taking a break on the side of the slope.

“There was this loud bang and I thought, ‘What the heck?'” said Martin. “Then I saw this guy fly past me doing some sort of weird skiing thing.”

Landers, who was apparently trying to impress a group of fellow comedians, was apologetic after the collision.

“I didn’t mean to run into her,” he explained. “I was just trying to be funny. You know, make people laugh. But I guess skiing and comedy don’t mix.”

Martin, for her part, took it all in stride.

“It was a bit startling, but I’ve been through worse in the ocean,” she said. “At least this time I wasn’t in danger of getting eaten by a shark.”

So, what’s the lesson to be learned here? Maybe stick to the bunny slopes and leave the comedy to the professionals – or the retired deep sea divers.
