Tech giant, Foogle, has recently announced their latest innovation in search technology: Fing Chat. The AI-powered platform allows users to ask questions and receive answers in chat form, with the added bonus of hilarious memes and gifs for entertainment. But Foogle’s latest update has left some users scratching their heads – ads in Fing Chat.
“We know our users love a good laugh,” said Foogle spokesperson, John Smithers. “So why not spice up their search with some sponsored content? It’s a win-win!”
But not everyone is on board with the idea. One user, who wished to remain anonymous, stated, “I just want answers to my questions, not an ad for cat food. It’s like they’re trying to sell me something before I even get my answer.”
Some users have reported receiving ads for completely irrelevant products. “I asked Fing Chat what time the sun sets, and it responded with an ad for foot cream. What does that even have to do with anything?” exclaimed frustrated user, Sarah Johnson.
Foogle assures users that they are constantly improving their algorithm to provide the best possible ad experience. “We’re taking all feedback seriously,” Smithers said. “And we promise to only show ads that are truly relevant to your search. Like, for example, if you search for a recipe for mac and cheese, we’ll show you an ad for cheese. See? Relevant.”
Only time will tell if Foogle’s foray into ads in search will be a hit or a miss. In the meantime, Fing Chat users can enjoy the occasional sponsored meme while they search for the meaning of life.
