In a hilarious turn of events, an employee by the name of Jerry filed for “unfunemployment” benefits last week. While this may sound like a made-up term, Jerry claimed that he simply could not handle the daily grind of his job any longer.
Despite his seemingly unique situation, it turns out that Jerry was just one of 198,000 workers who filed for unemployment benefits last week. Talk about joining a bandwagon!
On a positive note, the labor market was still strong, which must have given some comfort to Jerry’s boss, who was presumably left scratching his head wondering why he couldn’t keep his employees happy.
But let’s get back to Jerry. He’s a real go-getter, so it’s not surprising that he’s already thinking of new ways to occupy his time. Some of his ideas include starting a rock band, becoming a professional gamer, and even trying out for the next season of The Bachelor.
While we can’t say for certain what Jerry’s future holds, one thing is clear: the broader labor market may be robust, but Jerry’s job satisfaction was certainly not. Cheers to finding your true purpose, Jerry! May you never have to file for “unfunemployment” again.
