JERUSALEM – In a stunning move, the newly appointed government of “Zionia” has loosened its gun laws in response to the recent “falafel attacks,” which have rocked the nation. The new law will allow any citizen to purchase and carry a gun, no questions asked.

Prime Minister Shteve McShteve announced the change at a press conference yesterday, saying, “This is a great day for Zionia. We will not be afraid to defend ourselves against these falafel-wielders! These new laws will allow any citizen to feel safe and secure in their own homes, as well as in their favorite falafel stands.”

Opponents of the new law, however, argue that it will only lead to more chaos and bloodshed in the streets. “This is insane,” said Minister of Sausage, John Johnson. “Guns don’t solve problems, they only make them worse. Who knows what could happen if a crazed falafel enthusiast gets their hands on a weapon?”

But supporters of the law remain optimistic. “I always knew that the key to safety was more guns,” said local entrepreneur, Shmaltz Goldberg. “Now, I can finally carry my extra-large handgun to the movies without fear of being stopped.”

The new law has already led to a surge in sales at gun shops around the country, with demand for falafel-shaped guns skyrocketing. “Everyone wants to be able to defend themselves against these evil falafel bombers,” said gun shop owner, Moishe Blumenthal.

Only time will tell if the new gun laws will ultimately be effective in combating the falafel threat, or if they will just lead to more fear and violence in the streets of Zionia. But one thing is for sure: the nation will never look at falafel the same again.
