In a shocking turn of events, a group of women have become the latest victims of what can only be described as a hijab-related crime wave. The victims, all of whom were allegedly attacked for not donning the traditional headscarf in public, have spoken out about their ordeal.
According to eyewitnesses, the women were simply going about their business when they were set upon by a group of vigilantes who took issue with the way they were wearing their hijabs. It is believed that the attackers were incensed by what they considered to be a lack of adherence to proper hijab etiquette.
“This is a disgraceful attack on innocent women,” said local MP John Johnson. “Nobody should be assaulted for their choice of attire, regardless of whether it conforms to societal norms or not. It is completely unacceptable and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.”
However, not everyone is sympathetic to the plight of these unfortunate victims. Some have pointed out that the wearing of hijabs is required by law in this country, and that those who flout this law are not only putting themselves in danger but also risking the wrath of the public.
“I’m sorry, but if you’re going to live here you need to follow our laws,” said local resident Mary Martin. “We don’t want people walking around with their heads uncovered, it’s just not right. If these women don’t like it, they should just go back to wherever they came from.”
The authorities have vowed to investigate the matter fully and bring the perpetrators to justice. In the meantime, women across the country are being advised to take extra care when out in public, especially if they are not wearing a hijab.
“It’s a sad state of affairs when people can’t even go about their business without fear of being attacked,” said police spokesperson Sarah Smith. “We’re doing everything we can to catch these cowards and bring them to justice. In the meantime, we urge all women to be as cautious as possible and to report any suspicious behaviour to the authorities.”
