Comedians Plan to Compel Politicians to Flag Up Signs of Jokes – or Face Sanctions

In a surprising move, the Association of Stand-up Comedians has come forward to demand that all politicians and government officials be required to flag up signs of joke-worthy material. Failure to do so will result in sanctions, which may include being subjected to one hour of non-stop “dad jokes” or being forced to watch every episode of the Big Bang Theory.

“We’ve had enough of these politicians coming up with all these serious topics and not giving us anything to laugh about,” said Bob McLaughter, the Association’s President. “We deserve a good laugh too!”

The new policy will require politicians to attend a mandatory training session on comedic timing and what constitutes a “good joke.”

“Imagine a world where every politician has a sense of humor! We could all lighten up a bit and not take ourselves so seriously,” said Sarah Haha, a member of the Association.

However, not everyone is on board with the plan. The Department of Humorless Politicians issued a statement saying, “While we support freedom of speech and humor, we feel that politicians should focus on their jobs, which is to run the country, not make people laugh.”

The Association of Stand-up Comedians is determined to push forward with their plan and is considering starting a petition to gather support. “We’ll make them laugh one way or another!” McLaughter said with a chuckle.
