“Con-silly limbo”: Fake names await plans to impose consistent recycling rules in England
A recent announcement by the English government was met with mixed reactions from local councils across the country. According to Bob Bobberson, the head of waste management in the town of Bilgeford, it’s been a tough few weeks for councils trying to figure out what the new regulations might entail.
“We’re all scratching our heads over here,” Bobberson said. “It’s like they’ve given us a riddle to solve. How do you make sure everyone’s recycling is consistent when no one knows what that means?”
Meanwhile, the town of Wibbleton has taken a more humorous approach to the situation. Mayor Fred Flibbert said he’s considering hiring a recycling guru to move to the town and help residents navigate the new rules.
“We figure if we can’t make sense of it, we might as well have a laugh,” Flibbert said. “Maybe our guru can give us some divine insights into the art of recycling.”
But not everyone is taking the situation lightly. In the town of Snickerdoodle, tempers are starting to flare as residents worry over what the new rules might mean for them.
“I’ve been recycling for years, and now they’re telling me I might have been doing it wrong this whole time?” said local resident Betty Bobbington. “It’s enough to make your head spin.”
Overall, it remains to be seen what the new regulations will entail – but for now, council members across the country are left in con-silly limbo, waiting eagerly for answers.
