Haifa, Israel – Chaos erupted at a Palestinian celebration inside al-Aqsa Mosque today, as Israeli police attempted to disperse the rowdy crowd with non-lethal methods like stun grenades and rubber bullets.
According to eyewitness reports, an extravagant celebration was taking place inside the mosque, complete with fireworks and dancing. However, things took a turn for the worse when the party-goers got a little too rowdy and started setting off fireworks inside the historic building.
The Israeli police arrived on the scene and attempted to break up the party with traditional methods like asking nicely or banging on pots and pans. When that didn’t work, they resorted to stun grenades and rubber bullets, causing party-goers to scatter in all directions.
“It was like a scene out of a bad college frat movie,” said one witness, who wished to remain anonymous. “I mean, who brings fireworks to a mosque?”
Al-Aqsa officials were quick to condemn the celebrations and said they had no prior knowledge of the event. “We don’t condone this kind of behavior inside our holy site,” said one spokesperson. “It’s just not respectful.”
Despite the chaos, some party-goers managed to escape unscathed and vowed to continue celebrating. “We won’t let the Israelis stop us from having a good time,” said one reveler, who went by the name of Muhammad Ali Baba. “If anything, this just makes us more determined to party harder.”
As for the Israeli police, they’re still investigating the incident and are warning other potential party-goers to think twice before bringing fireworks to a religious site. “We take the safety and security of all holy sites very seriously,” said one official. “And we won’t hesitate to use stun grenades and rubber bullets again if necessary.”
