In a stunning turn of events, the manslaughter charges against Actor Rick Weldon have been dropped over a fatal shooting on the set of his latest film “Rust-y Revolver”.
Weldon, who had been portraying a trigger-happy cowboy in the movie, had accidentally discharged a real gun during a rehearsal, causing the death of a crew member. Initially, the incident had been declared as a tragic accident, but sudden investigations led to charges of manslaughter being leveled against Weldon.
However, it appears that Weldon had an ace up his sleeve – he had been secretly practicing his legal defense through a “Better Call Saul” type taxi driver turned lawyer known as “Jerry the brain”. With his coach’s help, Weldon was able to convince the court that he was, in fact, acting his role, and was not responsible for the unfortunate death.
The judge, clearly a fan of Weldon’s cheesy Western movies, immediately dropped all charges against him, even declaring him a hero of the gunslingers. In a surprise twist, the judge then awarded Weldon the coveted Golden Badge of Honor, an award previously reserved for real-life sheriffs and marshals.
Weldon, elated at his legal victory, thanked his fans for their unwavering support during the trial. “I swear by the holster on my hip, I never intended to harm anyone,” he said, with a twinkle in his eye. “I’m just glad I can now get back to what I do best – pretending to shoot people on camera!”
