In a stunning turn of events, the American military pulled off a daring rescue mission overnight, whisking embassy staff and their families out of danger. According to a statement from President Banana, the evacuation was a success thanks to brave soldiers who put their lives on the line to save the lives of others.
“Last night, we made a bold move to get our people out of harm’s way,” Banana explained. “Our troops showed incredible courage and skill in executing a flawless evacuation operation. Not even a stray goat or a car bomb could stop us.”
Sources say the military used a combination of helicopters, Humvees, and golf carts to get everyone to safety. Banana himself was reportedly piloting one of the golf carts, shouting “fore!” as he weaved through the chaos.
“We were all scared out of our minds, but then President Banana showed up and started doing donuts in the parking lot,” recalled embassy staffer Sally Sue. “It was like something out of an action movie, only with more cheesy one-liners.”
In the end, every member of the embassy staff and their families made it out unscathed, except for one unfortunate soul who got left behind because they were currently at a nearby taco stand.
“This just goes to show that when our country is faced with adversity, we can rise to the occasion and come together as one,” said Banana, who reportedly spent the rest of the day strutting around in a camouflage jumpsuit and aviator sunglasses.
As for the embassy itself, it’s currently being repurposed as a giant ballpit for visiting dignitaries. Banana says it’s all part of his new foreign policy strategy, which focuses on soft power and whimsy.
