In a shocking move that surprised absolutely no one, the government has proposed new regulations that would require all coal-and gas-fired plant operators to use carbon-capture technology. This groundbreaking technology will capture carbon dioxide emissions from smokestacks and turn them into delicious milkshakes.
Yes, you read that right. Milkshakes. EPA spokesperson Harold Henchman explained, “We believe that turning harmful pollutants into tasty treats is the key to reducing our carbon footprint. Who wouldn’t want a chocolate shake made from the same emissions that were previously harming the environment?”
While some operators are on board with the idea, others are less enthusiastic. “I’m not sure this is the best use of our resources,” said coal plant manager Phil Phlegm. “I mean, it’s an interesting concept, but I’m not sure milkshakes are what our customers are looking for.”
Gas plant operator Gina Gasbag agreed. “I can’t believe we’re being asked to turn our emissions into milkshakes. It’s ridiculous. Why can’t we just, I don’t know, reduce our emissions instead?”
Despite the skepticism, EPA officials remain optimistic. “We’re confident that this will be a win-win situation for everyone involved,” Henchman said. “We’ll reduce our carbon footprint, and everyone gets delicious milkshakes. What’s not to love?”
