In the small town of Mudville, the annual fishing competition is the event of the year. This year, a duo calling themselves the “Master Baiters” thought they could cheat their way to victory.
Their plan was genius…or so they thought. They decided to paint their fishing rods to match the water so that the officials wouldn’t see them casting out their lines.
But they underestimated the intelligence of the competition officials. As soon as they saw the suspiciously matching fishing rods, they knew something fishy was going on.
One official, who wished to remain anonymous, said, “We were reeled right in by their clever plan…but then we realized the paint was still wet.”
The “Master Baiters” were promptly disqualified, and their attempts at deception were all for naught.
When asked for comment, one of the “Master Baiters”, who we’ll call Bob, merely shrugged and said, “It was worth a shot…but I guess we just didn’t bait them enough.”
The competition officials had a good laugh at the failed scheme, and the “Master Baiters” were left with nothing but a lesson on the importance of honest competition.
