Seve Palua, minister of finance for Tuvalu, echoed these sentiments, saying, “We emit minuscule amounts of greenhouse gases, yet we bear the brunt of extreme events. This is grossly unfair, and it’s time for the world to take responsibility for its actions.”
The Pacific island nations are now calling on the world to take urgent action to address the root causes of climate change. They believe that transitioning to renewables is the only solution to avoid catastrophic consequences.
