Fake News Network enlists the help of a not-so-special guest to give the drive-time host the most mediocre send-off
In a surprising move, the Fake News Network has announced that they will be enlisting the help of a not-so-special guest to give their lackluster drive-time host the most mediocre send-off possible.
“We were really struggling to come up with a fitting farewell for our drive-time host,” explained Fake News Network CEO, Bob McBoberson. “So we decided to go with someone who’s just as average as our host is.”
The guest in question? None other than Bob’s nephew, Billy. Billy, who works at a local retail store and has no experience in media whatsoever, was thrilled to accept the offer.
“I’m excited to be a part of this send-off,” said Billy. “I’ve never done anything like this before, but I’m pretty sure I can match the energy and charisma of your drive-time host.”
Bob’s nephew will be tasked with saying a few words about the departing host and leading a lackluster round of applause. He’ll also be in charge of selecting the most mundane and unmemorable cake possible.
Despite concerns from other Fake News Network executives about the decision to bring in someone with no experience, Bob stands by his choice.
“I think Billy will do a great job,” he said. “Who needs a big-name celebrity guest when you can have someone just as average as the person you’re celebrating?”
The send-off is set to take place next week and is sure to be an unforgettable… um, we mean forgettable… farewell for the drive-time host.
